Leases
Leasing a horse is a great option if you aren't ready or able to buy a horse, but you want more than one ride a week. It provides you with the opportunity to ride and dote on a horse "of your own" a few days a week, and see what ownership is all about, without the full commitment of a purchase. We have several horses available for on-farm lease opportunities. See the Our Horses page to find out which ones!
Leasing Prices 2010
Partial Lease - Ride 2x a week = $200/mth
Half Lease - Ride 3x a week = $285/mth
Full Lease - Ride 5x a week = $400/mth
*All leases required to take weekly lesson which is not included in the lease package.
*Lease days are flexible provided Emily is notified at the beginning of each week which days you will be riding so your horse can be used in other lessons on the days he isn't leased.
*More than one rider may lease the same horse.
*If you are leasing, you may take your horse to competitions or clinics off site with approval from Emily.
Sales
Finding the perfect horse or pony to bring home with you is a fabulous experience. Emily is happy to help you make that match. Sometimes horses on the farm are available for sale, and Emily is available to go on "horse shopping" trips to other farms on request where she will put her horse connections to use for you! Finders fee, travel expenses, and commission will apply.
OUR SALE HORSES (see our horses page for photos and more descriptions)
Ivy League - 16.2 H, big-bodied 1997 TB mare. Loves her job, loves to jump. Quiet and easy around the barn and on the road. Successfully took former owner to Maine Medal Finals and competed in Maine and South Carolina in Pre-Children's and Children's Hunter. Hunter on the Flat Champion at both of the shows she made it to last season. Proving to be fabulous husband's horse for flat work and good on trails as well. Currently used and adored in our lesson program, but for sale to the right home. Also available for lease - Ivy can take you places!
Prizm - 14.3 H, pinto, half-Arab mare. Our number one walk-trot pony. Used in lessons for kids and adults alike. Has competed in the special hunters and walk-trots on the Maine circuit. Easy keeper and attention hound. Described by students as a "kitten in a horse's body" this sweet little mare would be happy to be your full-time friend!
Roux - 15.3 H, 5 yo TB mare. This little girl is coming into her own. She has grown a full hand since we've had the pleasure of having her around, and is still growing up before she grows out! Started under saddle last fall (she did race as a 2 year old, but had time off to grow up), Roux is going to make a great mount. Willing, quiet, athletic and unphased by life going on around her, she walked, trotted, and cantered her third time out! Price will go up with additional time and training.
